Definitions

Retailer: Cyril Campbell Electrics Limited - trading as J.C. Campbell Electrics

Consumer: A person buying not in connection with a trade or business

Prices: The cost of an item or items as agreed with the retailer.

By using this site indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Prices

All our prices are shown in £ sterling and include VAT at the current rate. Prices may be changed without notice.

Contract

No contract is created until we have accepted your order. Once an order has been accepted there is a binding sale contract between the retailer and the customer. In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or error in pricing information received from our suppliers we will not process your order and therefore there will be no contract between the retailer and consumer. We will instead alert you immediately to the actual price of the goods and you then have the option to proceed at an updated price. We will only process any such order with your explicit authority. Prices quoted are subject to stock availability.

Payment methods and security

Payment can be made by Visa, Master Card, Delta or Maestro via our secure payment provider, Stripe. We also accept PayPal payments and we have a finance option with Klarna at Checkout.

We take every precaution to protect your information both online and offline.

Your credit card details are verified by Stripe secure gateway, which means that we do not have access to your credit card details at any point during the payment process.

Verification

All customers payments must be verified before it is approved for shipment. Most of the time the order goes through without any issue, but JC Campbell Electrics reserves the right to hold a shipment in case of suspicious activity relating to fraud, misuse of credit cards or fake identity. We apologise if your order is delayed if it is flagged by our procedure, but we will ensure that if verification is required, we will contact you as soon as we can so we can ship out your order faster. Furthermore, if there are any concerns, you can always email us at [email protected]

As online shopping grows, unfortunately so does fraud. We thank you for your cooperation.

Delivery

Please be advised that we use different logistics partners for our deliveries of large and small appliances.

2-3 working days Small appliances (kettles, toasters, floorcare, food preparation, etc)

For Large appliances (washing machines, dishwashers, cooling etc) delivery times may vary, dependent on location.

Our aim is to deliver most White Goods ordered within 7-10 working days from the date of the order being accepted. Most goods can be delivered free to Mainland UK, however not all large appliances are available to UK mainland addresses (for example, large appliances such as washing machines, fridge freezers etc. cannot be delivered to Channel Islands, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Scottish Isles.)

Other items such as vacuum cleaners, kettles, toasters and food preparation can be delivered nationwide.

You will be advised if delivery is not available to your location when you enter your delivery address.  If you live in the Republic Of Ireland, we can deliver but you may incur additional charges [email us for a quotation].

If the product that you have selected is not available at the time of placing your order, and it is necessary for us to order directly from the manufacturer, you will be contacted to confirm delivery arrangements. We will keep you up to date with the progress of your order if the item is delayed for any reason.

If you decide not to continue with the order, any payment you have made will be re-credited to your account within 30 days of the order being cancelled. This does not affect your statutory rights.

When you have booked your delivery date for your Large Appliance, it is your responsibility to be available to accept delivery on that date.  Should the delivery fail due to you being unavailable to accept it, a redelivery may be arranged however, the second delivery will be at a cost to the customer. Should you wish to cancel your order after delivery has been attempted and failed due to you being unavailable to accept it, any delivery charge or payments (e.g. Installation) made for services will not be refunded.

If you have paid for Installation, Disconnection or Removal (for recycling) Services please note that you are responsible for ensuring that the space is available to accommodate the appliance and to ensure that the set-up is adequate for our delivery company to install the appliance. Our delivery company can only connect to existing electrical or plumbing supplies; that is Like for Like. Where any additional work is required, this must be completed prior to the Delivery/Installation date. Additional work includes any form of plumbing, additional connectors, electrical or carpentry work. If at any time of connection our delivery company deems any aspect of the connection not to be feasible it is at their discretion not to proceed. Please contact us directly if this should occur.

There will be no refund for services where our delivery company cannot install due to risk of flood, incorrect measurements, safety factors, where extension leads or hoses have been used or the wrong product has been ordered.

If an installation fails because the customer did not inform us of any reason why it may not be successful or because the customer did not comply with the reasons mentioned above, we reserve the right to charge the full installation/delivery fee.

IMPORTANT

It is your responsibility to check your goods upon delivery for shortages or damage and to make a note of such on the carrier’s consignment note when you sign for the goods. Any damage must be reported to us by phone or e-mail within 3 days of delivery.

Products

Product images, descriptions and specifications are shown for guidance and illustration purposes only. Colours may appear slightly different on screen compared to viewing the item in person. For more detailed information and specification contact the manufacturer.

 Some products may require set-up and/or assembly; for example, TVs, and Soundbars may need manually tuning.

Transit bolts must be removed from Washing Machines prior to installation. Failure to do so may result in damage to the appliance. It is also important to ensure all polystyrene is removed from around the appliance, including the bottom/underneath.

Please read all installation instructions before attempting an install.

If you are unable to set-up, assemble or install a product yourself, you are advised to contact a qualified person.

Buying a new electrical or electronic item from us? We'll recycle the one you’re replacing for free. Simply bring the old electrical item in within 28 days, show us the receipt for its replacement and we’ll do the rest.

Guarantee

All our products are supplied with a (1 year minimum) manufacturer’s guarantee that is valid from the date of delivery. These guarantees cover domestic use only and do not cover faults caused by accidental damage, misuse or neglect. Any product offered with an extended warranty which is more than 1 year, may have this underwritten by a third-party insurance company.

If your product is offered with a guarantee of more than 1 year, it is your responsibility to register this with the manufacturer and obtain a certificate number. This registration must be done within 90 days of purchase.

The J.C. Campbell Electrics site collects certain contact information (such as email addresses). We use this data to send orders and information about those orders to our customers and to let you know about special offers. The information we receive from customers may also be used to collect service and product reviews through our partner, Trustpilot.  You can opt not to receive such information by sending us an email: [email protected]

The J.C. Campbell Electrics website has security measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of customer information. These include securing forms with SSL and digital certificates, physical security, network firewalls and regular data backups.

Complaints

Please provide as much detail of your complaint as possible, including product details and dates and times of communication with our company where applicable.

We do our best to respond to complaints within 3 working days. In the unlikely event that your complaint is not resolved within 7 working days, we will also keep you informed of the progress of your complaint.

Cancellation & Returns

If you wish to cancel your order prior to despatch, you must email us first at [email protected] and wait for a cancellation email.

You have the right to cancel your order within seven working days from date of delivery and return the goods supplied to us for a full refund. You must notify us in writing or by email within the seven days of your intention to cancel the contract. If you cancel your order, any goods supplied must be returned to the retailer at your own expense within 7 days of your notice to cancel.

Providing the goods are returned unused, unopened, in original condition, complete with all packaging, in an "as new" condition and all accessories and leads including any free gifts you will receive a full refund, less any delivery and/or collection charges, within 30 days of giving us your notice to cancel. We are unable to accept back goods for a credit if they are unwanted gifts or non-faulty items 7 days after the purchase date. These Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Returned goods not complying with this may be rejected or subject to a minimum of 25% deduction from any refund. Please note that if you cancel an order, which has been processed and dispatched or if you refuse delivery of your item from the courier, you will be refunded the value of the goods less the return costs. The 7-day period does not start until the day after receipt of the goods by the customer. Monies will only be refunded once we have received the returned goods, this may take up to a maximum of 14 working days.

J.C. Campbell Electrics will not accept cancellation of any orders where the item(s) purchased are not normally held in stock but have been specifically ordered at the request of the customer.

If you have paid for additional Installation or Removal services and you wish to cancel these services, this must be cancelled 48 hours before the booked delivery date.

Faulty Goods

In the unlikely event that your product develops a fault within 7 days of receipt, please contact us to arrange return and inspection. We will usually exchange or refund the item provided it is still 'as new' and the fault has not been caused by accident, misuse or neglect.

If your product develops a fault after the 7 day period but within the manufacturers guarantee period, we will arrange to have the item repaired.

For large and/or less portable items, we will arrange for a manufacturer approved engineer to visit you and repair your item free of charge.

This does not affect your statutory rights.
